The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) in cooperation with the European Union is accepting proposals from CARIFORUM firms for grants of up to \u00e2\u201a\u00ac30,000 the equivalent of approximately $33,000 USD, under their 2<\/a>nd<\/a><\/sup> Call for Proposals <\/a>for the DIRECT ASSISTANCE GRANT SCHEME (DAGS).   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2018 1st<\/sup> Call for Proposals over \u00e2\u201a\u00ac2.1M <\/strong>was awarded to fifty-three (53) CARIFORUM firms that successfully applied for a grant.\u00c2  Businesses from a range of sectors including agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, services, wood products, renewable energy, film and tv production, information technology and alcoholic beverages were awarded grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We were encouraged to see the diversity\nof proposals from companies looking for a grant\u00e2\u20ac\u009d shared Damie Sinanan \u00e2\u20ac\u201c\nManager, Competitiveness and Export Promotion at Caribbean Export.  \u00e2\u20ac\u0153This time we have reduced the maximum value\nof the grants available in an effort to provide more grants to firms and make\nit more accessible\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DAGS is a reimbursement grant funding facility which requires firms to fund their projects upfront and be reimbursed at their completion.\u00c2  The fund was specifically designed to provide much needed financial assistance to legally registered CARIFORUM firms and individuals that are exporting or have the potential to export their products and services.\u00c2  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
