Caribbean Export provides support for\nthe development of the regions cultural and creative industries as part of the\nimplementation of the Regional Private Sector Development Programme funded by\nthe 11<sup>th<\/sup> EDF.&nbsp; The Bank\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\nfunding is through its Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by Sandra Carr, one of the pioneers of\nthe Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design at the University of Trinidad and\nTobago the bootcamp workshop focused on refining the designer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s products for\nthe export market; identifying where best to place their products and how to\ndevelop their brands.&nbsp; It also looked at\nleveraging social media platforms and developing the right market strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-248129\" width=\"338\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2.png 940w, https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/2-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 338px) 100vw, 338px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>One of the key take-aways from this workshop was the collaboration between the designers to develop new pieces.\u00c2&nbsp; The Caribbean Fashion Accelerator pt2 has been developed in partnership with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) of Barbados, Invest SVG and Caribbean Market Center and is focused on building upon these skills and developing the designer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s product packaging.\u00c2&nbsp; Over the period October 14 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 24, 2019 sixteen (16) participating designers from Barbados, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago, including a number of whom would have participated in the first edition, will get to learn first-hand from Carr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the opening of the workshop Ms Carr encouraged the designers to work together and to be open to what they were about to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-248125\" width=\"379\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/1.png 940w, https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/1-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/content.carib-export.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/1-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 379px) 100vw, 379px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We had the Caribbean Fashion Showroom at CARIFESTA XIV and the response was remarkable.\u00c2&nbsp; Within the booth, we had a collection of clothes designed by the participants of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Accelerator and many people were interested in purchasing the collections.\u00c2&nbsp; This is a clear indication of what is possible when designers collaborate and produce high quality work\u00e2\u20ac\u009d shared Ms. Carr.\u00c2&nbsp;\u00c2&nbsp;\u00c2&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The fashion accelerator is an important\ninitiative for Caribbean Export.&nbsp;\nEnsuring that designers are skilled to develop collections that can be\nexported is central to this initiative and under the guidance of Ms. Carr and\nthe support of the Caribbean Market Center\u00e2\u20ac\u009d expressed Allyson Francis, Services\nSpecialist at Caribbean Export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Caribbean Market Center based in Newton,\nBarbados is the region\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only fashion training centre designed to train\nglobally recognised CVQs and NVQs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caribbean Export launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cedev.local\/news\/the-caribbean-fashion-showroom-is-open-for-business\/\">Caribbean Fashion Showroom<\/a>, an online shop that promotes Caribbean\ndesigners internationally and was the brain child of Rodney Powers \u00e2\u20ac\u201c fashion\nconsultant for Caribbean Export and Director at the Caribbean Market Center,\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Caribbean Market Center is pleased to collaborate with Caribbean Export and\nsupport the development of the region\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fashion industry.&nbsp;
