The Caribbean ExThe Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA), hosted the 3rd Caribbean Investment Summit on May 12-13th at the Marriott Hotel, Miami, USA. This Summit was a unique window to the region’s diverse opportunities for investment, and aimed to attract a wealth of potential investors interested in the dynamic Caribbean brand.
Following the success of two previous events in London and Mexico, the Summit brought focus yet again to the region’s key industry sectors: renewable energy, business process outsourcing (BPO) and niche tourism. Under the theme, The Climate is Right in the Caribbean, the event provided an unmatched platform for regional Investment Promotion Agencies to expose their ‘shovel ready projects’ to prospective investors in their newest target market, the United States.
Over 100 high net worth individuals and investors gathered at this year’s Summit where these investment ready projects will be unveiled. The event took advantage of the proximity of the United States to the Caribbean, as the region continues to target strategic investors under the rollout of the recently developed Regional Investment Promotion Strategy.
This event was supported by the Inter-American Development Bank within the framework of a Regional Public Goods Program entitled “Support for Foreign Direct Investment in the Caribbean”.
