The Caribbean Export Development Agency and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on attacting foreign direct investment to the Caribbean. CAIPA was launched in 2007 to facilitate the collaboration of regional Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs). Our emphasis is on activities which are best undertaken at regional or sub-regional rather than at national levels as we promote the Caribbean as a prime destination for intra and extra-regional investment.
To date, CAIPA’s membership comprises 23 IPAs within the region including representation from the Dutch and British Overseas Countries and Territories. The member countries include: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
