The Caribbean Investment Forum

In 2022, Caribbean Export convened the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) a high-level event designed to give investors the opportunity to explore the range of bankable projects available across the Caribbean.

The event’s objectives are to:

  • Raise the visibility of the region as an investment destination
  • Attract investment into the priority sectors identified with a focus on those needed to support the transition of the region to a greener and smarter economy
  • Bring together the international investment community so that agreements can be forged on key priorities that will fast-track the region’s transition
  • Work towards attaining the sustainable development goals focused on poverty, zero hunger,good health and well-being,decent work and economic growth, life on land and partnerships

An annual event, the Caribbean Investment Forum was hosted in Trinidad in 2022, followed by The Bahamas in 2023, and Guyana in July, 2024. Previous editions of the forum have been conducted in collaboration with the respective country governments, the European Union, the CARICOM Secretariat, and the Caribbean Development Bank.

CIF has maintained a focus on investment opportunities in key sectors, including Sustainable Agriculture, ICT, Green Economy Transition and Logistics & Transport.

Additionally, the event features a project presentation segment, during which Investment Promotion Agencies and private entities present investment opportunities from across the Caribbean.

Caribbean Export works with 23 IPAs within the region including representation from the Dutch and British Overseas Countries and Territories. The countries include: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
